You hear this exchange from ahead, then minutes later, a gunshot and the roar of tired screeching away. Slinking from the shadows, you witness two brutal murders, the emptied purse dropped carelessly into a pool of spreading blood, and the tire marks of a stolen car. As you prepare to slip away, unnoticed, you sense more than feel the cold barrel of a gun aimed right at you. Turning slowly around, you reach stealthily for your own weapon, using the shadows to hide the motion. "Git away, Lone Wolf. There's a new alpha in town, and he's got backup. I suggest you go running with your tail between your legs.. Now," the intruder growled. With speed barely caught by the naked eye, you aim and shoot. Once. Twice. Three times. The thug fell hard, not dead, but damn near close. "'E'll git you, Wolf," he huffed with the last of his breath. "This territory ain't yours no more. You better watch your back. They're commin' for ya." Pulling the trigger, you lose one last bullet, finishing the job. "Let them come," you hiss.
