Rain is recycled water that has evaporated from our oceans, rivers, lakes and streams. Raindrops form from ice / snow crystals at the cloud level. Oddly enough rain starts out as a flat oval and then as it falls it changes into the classic tear drop shape. The size of a drop usually ranges from .02 inches to .031 inches.
