About Us

Leitmeier Bernd opened the Pizza Express in Würzburg in 1985. The idea of ​​this came into being in Augsburg in 1983 with a trained Italian pizza maker, the 1st pizza delivery service was opened.

Only a year later there was a second branch in Munich, in 1985 both companies were taken over by an employee worked in the company.

At the age of 22 and the first self -deserved money, Leitmeier, Bernd, made his way to Würzburg. The wine area and the stationing of the Americans were probably decisive for the choice. In America it was already common to be delivered pizza, but still unknown in Germany. Pizza delivery began in the United States in 1963.

In the Neubaustr. 22 Würzburg were found for the pizza delivery service. Pizza-Express quickly made a name for itself in Würzburg and the surrounding area through pizzas in 4 different sizes and free ingredients.

In 1987 the time was for a second branch. It was finally opened in Heidelberg.

In the 2 companies, younger employees quickly found themselves who had courage to independence. Other Pizza-Express companies were created in Mannheim, then Ludwigshafen, Freiburg, Offenburg, Bayreuth, Landsberg etc.

Pizza-Express can now be found 48 times between Hamburg and Lörrach.

In Würzburg, the BP petrol station in 1997, Veitshöchheimerstr. 6, an expansion of the dishes that can be delivered free of charge. Since 1999, three snacks with different kitchens have been available for immediate enjoying or taking the dishes with you

Plenty of parking spaces are partly covered for customers and our pizza delivery vehicles (which, by the way, are all recognizable with a roof plate).

You can choose between pizzas in 5 different sizes, crispy salads, delicious pasta dishes, fresh pancakes, chicken cheese parts and Asian from the wok and freshly prepared sushis.

We only use chosen foods as well as fresh mushrooms or homemade banana jam.

You can come to us 365 days a year between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 a.m. or wherever you are (within a radius of approx. 18 km) to order by phone for delivery. The different dishes are then delivered warm.
