So first judge properly the position of the ledge, then tap to jump angel to the upper ledge.

If you miss, the dragon will capture the mythical angel princess when she jumps, and gobble her up. Tapping on screen at right time is the best salvation here.

But don’t worry lot. You are not only rescuer. There is another dragon rescuer to salvage the legendary angel princess. If wicked dragon captures the angel princess, rescuer dragon will salvage her, and take her back to the platform to continue playing. But not always. You get 5 lives.
